Well im setting up a used 225 (72x24x30) that i purchased and its already drilled with 2 - 3/4" returns and 1 - 1 1/2" drain... so i guess the million dollar question is will the 1 1/2" drain support 2200 gph from a dart pump through a 75g sump....

you may loose a fair amount of flow with only (2) 3/4" returns

the dart has a flow rating using a 1 1/2" outlet. that is apx 1.75" of area compared to about .9" of area using (2) .75" fittings. that is a difference of almost half the recomended pipe size to achieve the darts rating. and if this is connected to a sump you will also loose some more flow due to head pressure.

i think that the 1.5" tank return should be ok.

You may want to consider moving less through the sump and more through a closed loop.

agreed, try to match the flow rate of the skimmer and the flow rate through the sump. Too much flow will not allow for microbubbles to disappate. Its easy enough to move the dart to a closed loop and get a smaller pump for the sump (will save a lot of headaches down the road).
