If i want to add LR rubble to my rear chambers in my 5 month old 12gal AP, do i need to let it cure first. I dont plan on adding a lot, but maybe a lb. or so?....whatever half a chamber would be.

It depends on where you get it from. If it is from the ocean, the curing process is mostly for die off of marine organisms. If I were you, I would at least let it cure in a bucket for a couple of weeks with some type of filtration.

I agree with grandegixxer. I would also smell it to make sure it doesn't stink.

ANSWER= if it is not cured YES

Your tank will have a nitrate spike if it is not FULLY CURED.

LOL. 2 weeks in a separate container seems a little overkill for a few pieces of rubble.

In a 5 month old tank, if its well stocked with plenty of live rock and sand, I think it will be able to absorb the impact of a little rubble. Just clean off any obvious nasty stuff and you'll be fine. Especially if you don't have anything like SPS in there.
