is betadine safe to use in a reef tank as a dip? i realize it is not chemicaly the same as iodine, but it has the same major compounds in it. we use it in the hospital in place of iodine so i am wondering if it would be safe in a reef as a dip. any info would be helpful. i found a few redbugs on one of my bonsai's and dont want it to get out of hand so i wanna dip before its too late. just dont know if it is safe to use. thanks in advance.

betadine is just a brand name of iodine, or at least thats what I always thought

I 've seen others use it and plan to use it myself as a dip for flat worm prevention on new corals. It won't treat red bugs though, Interceptor for them.
