Salty, talk to your Doc. I had the same and it was NOT heart related. If you want MO, please PM me Bro.

Get to a doc BEFORE you have damage. Many conditions can be treated and stop life-altering damage before it happens, if you're just fast and insistent. I had a bout with heart-related trouble and got out virtually scot-free and healthy: I got there fast, and I'm here to say if it's a false alarm, great; if it's something else, there's a lot that can be done with medication.

Most commonly your symptoms would be related to acid reflux. However, as I do not know you, if this is something that is new or sudden, associated with any chest pressure, tightness, shortness of breath, or difficulty with exertion it could represent a heart condition. A heart condition can also be entirely asymptomatic. If you have risk factors for heart disease; male over 40, smoking, high blood pressure or cholesterol, family history, diabetes, or personal history I would certainly take it more seriously.

THe problem is they are 2 very different diseases( with very different cosequences) that may have identical symptoms. You need to talk to your doctor.

Been there, done that, got the nice long scar down the middle of my chest to prove it. Double bypass, May 1997... I was only 37.

Could be hiatal hernia, ulcer, acid reflux, bad hotdog, etc. Get to the doc ASAP for a checkup if symptoms persist. Better safe than sorry.

thanks for all the reply's folks... it was a bad case of acid reflux.Stayed with me from noon till 11 pm that night. The feeling to burp but no relief clenched it... plus(sheepishly) I belatedly remembered my doctor telling me that I have it.(surgically caused). When it comes to figuring out what I have from my symptoms,It tends to drive the medical profession nuts,as my symptoms don't always follow the norm.(yay industrial accident). Again thanks for the replys and sorry for my tardiness in replying.

Glad to know that was it! Pepcid is your friend. Put a couple pills in your wallet and never be without them. An attack while you're driving is a PITA.

About a year and a half ago I had a stomach ulcer caused from Motrin 800 pain killers. I took 10 pills within a weeks time to help the pain from my hurt leg. I started to have what felt like hunger pains for a few days. Didn't think too much of it. Then one day I woke up to the most horrible pain I have ever felt in my life. I stood up out of bed and collapsed. I felt almost paralyzed. Then it went away. I proceeded to go to work and after 10 minutes of being there the pain came back. Co workers called the ambulance and off to the hospital I went. Had surgery that morning to repair the hole in my stomach that the pills caused. Spent 5 days in the hospital and 6 weeks off work. Now I have a nice 3 inch scar on my belly. I really wish I would have listened to my body and got to the doctor early-er.

That's exactly the reason I prefer hydrocodone for pain!

Acid reflux has caused a restriction in my esophagus (sic?) so food gets stuck. If I don't take one aciphex every day I start to hurt pretty bad in three days.

Bummer this hurting stuff ain't it?

This was the first time I ever took the Motrin 800. I can only take acetaminophen now (I think I spelled it correctly)
