My wife and I were at the local Wal-Mart and I saw these silly little tanks and thought I'd give it a go.
I drilled out the bottom of the tank and made a 1" pvc overflow. I went to the local glass shop and had them cut me some baffles to make my 2.5 gal refusium.
I masked off and painted the back of the tank with Krylon fusion and also painted the overflow (you cant even notice it in the pics).
I finished off the refusium with a RIO 600 return pump. I added about 5# of ls to the tank and about 4# to the refusium. I put about 4-5# of live rock in the tank and another 2-3# in the refusium. I also scrounged some cheato & collerpa at the LFS which they gave me. I've hit up the LFS's and found a few frags and added a scarlet hermit.
For lighting, I bought the coralife 10w 50/50 compact flourescent and put it right in to the stock hood and everything seems to be happy. For the refusium, I put a 13w full spectrum in a clamp light.
I made the cabnet out of scrap pine 1 x 12 and recesed the cabnet so the tank so it sits to the inside of the top.
Let me know what you guys think.
