Will gorgonians do well in nano tanks? i had one in my 40 gallon which did great, but was wondering about getting one for my 24g. NC.

I've got a nobby sea rod in my 24 aquapod. It was half dead (literally half the tissue was gone) after being shipped to me, but it has recovered real well and is completely grown back. It's one of the coolest things in my tank right now.

It does eat, but it seems to be mostly photosynthetic. I have a power compact hood, btw.

Gorgoians are tricky... first you have to figure out what kind you want to get.

Some need to be target fed once a day....
Some are photosynthetic.....
Some need very high flow....
Some need low flow....

So if you get the right one for your tank conditions it should do fine.

FYI... when you do get it... make sure to check it every once and awhile for algae growing on it. If algae starts to grow on the it the polyps wont be able to extend.

get yourself a red sea fan gorgonia...nonphotosynthetic; relies almost exclusively on phytoplankton. And...they're very beautiful but hard to find.
