Help ID - Who is "fishing" in my tank

I recently added some rock to my tank. It is Tampa Bay cultured LR from another persons tank. I noticed long, thin hairs extending from the rock...but had not thought too much of it until the other day when I saw a small amphipod (maybe copepod) get stuck to the hair. I then watched the hair with pod retract into the rock.

Was this all an illusion or is somthing "fishing" from within the rock?

These are not the greatest images...but the best I could do considering how small they are. They are circled in yellow.
