I have a 29 gallon bio-cube and wanted to add some hermit crabs to the tank in order to assit with the cleaning of the tank. I have about 15 snails in the tank and don't want them to become lunch for the hermit crabs. What type of hermit crab is best for a tank this size?

I have Baha hermits from www.premiumaquatics.com
I like them, they stay small (about the size of a cernith snail if that helps you). Worst thing they do is use my zoa's as carpet.
If you order those they also sell extra shells, get a few extra's and toss them in the tank. Once they outgrow the shell they will just move into another one.

The scarlet hermits are mini-hermits, and behave rather well.

I skipped the hermits for my BC 8.

What will hermits do that pods and bristleworms don't do for free, except knock over your frags and kill your snails?

I'm done with hermits. IMO a waste of money and bioload.
