I have a tank that I'm making into a sump. The dimensions are 36Lx20Wx16H. My skimmer is a coralife superskimmer 220. I plan to put the skimmer in the first section and then divide the rest of the sump evenly with a fuge in the middle and the return on the end. I have never setup a sump or even a skimmer before I need to know how much space to make for the skimmer section. Maybe I should just divide the tank up evenly, each section would hold about 16g (if it were right full). Does any of this sound any good? should I find a longer tank to make into a sump so I can make the fuge a return bigger?

Thanks for any input

You will need room for overflow. You may want to look here for some ideas.

I have a 30 gal 36x12x16 that I am setting up for my sump/refugium under my 90 gal RR.

My build thread has a diagram of the design I went with. GL on the build.
