Thinking about having a seperate fug' and sump. I would T the 1.5" drain with a quarter going to fug, and the rest to sump. The fug would then overflow back into the sump. Would this be loud at the point where it split? I don't want to spend all of this time making quiet overflows only to find that this part is really loud. Thanx,Marc

Here do what I did to feed my H&S skimmer . I have 1.5 inch drains and took one and put a t 8" below the bulkhead then a 90 into the T then pipe down to the sump .Now the water the flows straight down thru the T goes down 6" to a 1.5" reducer that takes it down so I could use a 1/2" barb . That fitting has a hose on it that goes to my skimmer. The reason I did that is because it keeps my 1/2" line sort pressurized and all air goes up and thru the 90 to the sump keeping air from messing up my flow rate. I then also have a ball valve right before the skimmer which I can adjust the flow.

My setup is the same as it was before I added the extra pipe and fittings.

In this pic look to the left of the skimmer you can see my 2 drain lines and which one is changed. The 90 goes to the sump.

I will do the other drain the same way so I can feed the frag tank under my tank. Right now the pump that feeds the chiller feeds that tank and it then drains into the sump . When I am done I will eliminate yet another pump from my tank.
