lace rock, when to put it in?

how long should i let my recently purcased lace rock sit in 1.023 solinity before i can put it in my display? i also have some anti heavy metal water conditioner in the bucket.

i let mine site in water for 3 months and then a month in salt- might be overkill but i had the time to wait.

Does lace rock tend to leach stuff? I saw some at a LFS....neat shapes.
