View Full Version : 6 gal NC lighting strong enough?

Hey i was thinkin of getting one of those 6 gallon nano cubes from drfostersmith.Is the lighting strong enough for zoas,ricordeas,or leathers?I might just wait for this year is over and recieve my brothers 120 gal reef setup!But i dont know.Should i uprgade the lighting on the 6 gal?Right now on my 12 gal dlx its pretty decent lighting.

It's enough for a branching frogspawn and hammer, neon-green candycane, white xenia, hairy mushrooms (Rhodactis), white lemnalia, IME. I think it will be not enough for ricordeas, and I had seen photos of the stock NC6, filled with zoas.
BTW, the original lamp is brighter than the Coralife 18W replacement, corals are more leggy now.

kool im thinkin of just having a ricordea/zoanthid dominated tank.

I'm thinking of getting a 6 gallon NC as a quarantine, etc. I'm always moving tanks around and the 6 gallon should be easy to setup and take down.

Where's the best place to buy one?
