These are cheap and it seems like they should work. After all, they top off the tanks on our toilets. I'm just not sure if there are any with no metal parts.

I'm using one in my RO/DI resevoir and one in my mixing tank. They've been working fine for nearly three years with no issues. I have the all plastic type with the vertical float around the column.

That's clever.

Ed, do you think these will work with gravity feed only or do they need pressure?

Any other details on your setup you can share?

Is the adjustment bar and clip stainless? Are you sure there's no metal inside?

i see metal there.. are you worried about it at all? it looks like its out of the water, but what about any salt spray getting on it?

I used one for my RO/DI reservior. After doing it I realized that I could have purchased a much smaller and easier to install float valve cheaper from just about anywhere

The one valve has a stainless link rod and clip. Its been fine for three years now, the picture was taken after two years of use in both RO/DI and salt mix. That one is in the pure RO/DI water now. I set up a new water resevoir last year with seperate compartments for RO/DI and mixed water. The second valve I got has all plastic parts, and it's in the salt mix tank. There is a small stainless pin inside the unit that is part of the actual valve. Again, no issues in three years service.

I'm not sure if they would work with just gravity feed, I have them being fed from my RO/DI unit. They are a bit more work to mount, but they are a very reliable positive shut off valve and they are easy to adjust for level within a large range - around six inches.
