Anyone ever made one? Do they work? any advice if I was going to make one?

I made a really simple one once, just get 100' 1/4" poly tubing and wrap it in a coil. Start a slow drip from your tank to your sump. It worked for me.

They work great. Jetdrvr's methods work fine. There are slightly more complicatedd methods out there that allow you to deliver ethanol into the reactor. Both designs typically require lots of tubing so...my advice. Start out with a design like Jet's and if you like it, then build somehting more complicated. If you don't like it, you've really minimized you loses. HTH. For what its worth, I have an aquaripure denitrator and have never recorded any nitrates since using it. I REALLY works well.
