How much does your PH fluctuate? I run my fuge's light cycle opposite of my display. I also feed outside air to my skimmer to help drive off elevated CO2 levels. My ALK is about 9.2.
I only get a PH of 8.3 when my Kalk tub is almost empty.

My pH varies about .2 over a 24 hour period. Low is around 8.15-8.2 and high is around 8.35-8.4. The top and bottom drop some when my reactor starts running out of kalk, which is usually my signal to add more kalk to the reactor. Looks like yours is a bit more blunted than mine (a swing of around .14). I'm not familiar with KdH so I'm not sure what that alk means. I keep my alk around 3.0 meq/l which I believe is balanced with calcium of 410, which is where I try to keep the ca. I keep my temp right around 79.

Yea.. I use meq/l for ALK as well but thought most people use dkh. My ALK is 3.3 meq/l and Ca is about 425.
Do you run a reverse lighting schedule on your fuge?
Thanks!

Your alk/ca sounds right on. I don't have a fuge. I've thought about adding one at some point but don't have one now, so I don't have anything in my setup to try and keep the pH stable. Is the typical day/night fluctuation harmful to corals? I know that stability is key, but my general impression is even the TOTM-type folks have fluctuating pH.

Yea... I kinda just wanted to see how mine compared with others who can track theirs overnight.
Thanks!

I just got my AC jr up and running. I am embarrassed to say that my fluctuations are worse then yours. I have been trying to get mine a little more stabilized with vinegar. I also did a water change. I will post my results next week when hopefully the swimming numbers have slowed down. I too am curious to see what everyone else is doing.

You will get the same effect if you just don't breathe when you are inside. LOL, jk.
That is cool to see the role CO2 is playing...

OK. my problem has been solved. I am fluctuating between 8 and 8.20 for the last two days. For some reason my probe got knocked out of calibration. For once in this hobby I lucked into something. I was really dosing the heck out of vinegar and Baking soda. Luckily the tank is pretty resilient and it was able to survive until I let common sense win over what a computer was telling me.
