I have a 75g display with a 30g sump. I have been dosing with ESV B ionic for about 1 week. My alk is 7.0 and my calc is 370 tested with salifert kits. Do I need to increase my 2 part supplement to raise those parameters? Any advice to increase these params.
Thanks

Those are both within acceptable limits, in my opinion. Do you know the daily swing of the alkalinity? I'd probably target at least 9 dKH since it's possible that the low point could be unpleasant if the high is 7 dKH.

What or when would a normal swing take place...I just reversed the timing schedule the night before so the lights were off for about 18 hours. Does the timing of the lights affect the alk any? I switched from on at 9am, off at 9pm to on at 5pm, off at 5am. When is the alk expected to be the lowest and when is the alk expected to be the highest? Thanks

Sorry for being off topic but do you have an M3? Your name made me curious. :)

I did have an M3, sold it in hopes of getting the new e90 M3s....when they come out...supposed to be V8 400hp...

Hey Bertoni, should I just increase the dosages of ESV Bionic to get the alk and calk up where they should be? I was dosing 20ml each part, maybe I should try 30-40ml each part?

Yes, increasing the daily dose of both parts equally is the way to go if you want to target a higher alkalinity.

No, what he means is that after you dose, it is dropping steadily until the next dose. So if the 7 dKH is right after dosing, the value may be unacceptably low right before the next dose.

Oh, okay...thanks Randy for the advice....I'll be sure to test the alk before and after I dose. Thanks....
