Sad to say that perhaps one day the majority of coral reefs may be in our fish tanks...

What it is going to come down to is more Cultivation than Conservation. Leaving the reefs alone but not stopping what causes them to die is backwards to me. When our laws restrict access to these reefs but still do nothing about illegal dumping and massive rigs, drilling and spills, we will eventually have no natural reefs left.

The problem is countries the USA, China and other large industrial countries, are polluting the environment. As funny as it sounds, humans are living longer (contributing heavily to the production of Co2), clearing of lands for homes, more factories and bigger cars are producing more co2 in the atmosphere which contributes to global warming. We have the highest amount of Co2 buildup in the atmosphere than the Earth has "Ever" had. The last time we had an atmosphere like this was the last Ice Age.

Like Zoa said, we may actually be the only ones with reefs. Sad thing is it's not the only thing we have to worry about. These are just warning signs of a horrible future for the planet.

visit them while you still can, I plan to visit a different tropical reef at least once a year before they disappear.
