OK
How in the world do you guys all hide your PHs in your tank.

I think thay are so un attractive and everyone that has nice tanks with great flow you cant see the ph's. EXPLAIN....

I guess my question is how do you get great flow throughout the tank with out have 3-4 Power heads showing in the tank?

Im a noob what am I missing here?

Off the top of my noggin'... Hide them behind rocks. Use a black background so the PHs blend right in. Pick up some Vortechs, so only half of the PH is in the tank. Don't use PHs and go with a closed loop.

closed loop = use an external pump to take water out of and back into the tank with out exposing it to the atmosphere.

Your questions about hiding the pumps make sense to me. I place them where I can create the most turbulence (ie: they are positioned at 90 degree angles from each other). I also have one in the back behind all the rock that shoots straight across the tank to hopefully eliminate dead spots. Try to figure out where you want the pumps and build the rock around them. It sometimes can be a pain, but a necessary one.
