My false perc clown is laying eggs right now. She is laying them in a little cupped frag rock. My question is if she lays them and the male fertalizes them, what are the chances that I can pull that rock out place the rock in a 10 gallon and raise the fry? I wish I had a video camera, this is pretty neat.

Clownfishes, by Joyce Wilkerson will tell you everything you need to know. You're actually at an advantage if they lay on a rock that you can pull out. But they'll hatch in about 8 days which is probably not enough time to prepare for this batch.

It is possible to raise babies, but very, very time consuming. I never had success until I used live food (rotifers) in the rearing tank which had to be cultured ahead.

Read up on what is involved to raise them and you'll see why more people don't do it. If your Clowns are laying, they will do it again when you have time to prepare.

Check out the breeding forum here on RC. A lot of people talk about their experiences there.

Cool! Live food for all your other fish! They will love the clowns for the treat.
