I bought this Nudi last Sunday. He's supposed to be a Lettuce Nudi, but when I looked up images online, nothing was close enough to this guy to make me 100% certain that's what it is. The very edges of his ridges are a reddish-purple color, immediately followed by a bluish color. The rest of the body is green with white/blue spots.

Sorry if the image sucks... I tried with and without flash.
Is it a lettuce?

There are several species commonly called "lettuce nudibranchs." It is a member of the family Elysiidae and more correctly called a lettuce sea slug (it isn't really in the order Nudibrancha). Check out this webpage and look through the list of Elysia sp. http://www.seaslugforum.net/specieslist.cfm.

Can you post a clearer picture of the head of the animal just to be sure?

Kevin

Kevin, thanks for the help so far. I looked through Elysia sp. and didn't see anything that stood out as being my nudi. I think I got a better picture, hope it helps:

That does look like Elysia to me. How big is it? Are you seeing it eat algae?

It's about as long as a quarter is wide. Yes, it's eating algea. Which Elysia do you think it is?

It's a juvenile Elysia diomedia.
