I have tiny organisms on the side of my tank. at first I thought they might be baby snail but I'm not sure they look like little spirals less than a cm in size

Spirorbidae worms maybe. Harmless.

yeah they look more like the worms especially like the smallest one in the picture all the way to the left.

what do they do if anything? should I keep them or get rid of them

Keep them. They're not a problem.
