Blood vs Peppermint

I am interested in getting a couple pepperming shrimp and a blood shrimp (b/c they look so cool). do these shrimp get along w/ eachother...is there any reason these shouldn't be kept together or w/ or soft corals (ie. zoanthids, ricordias, and torches). thanks!

Yes they get along and I'm never gonna put a Peppermint Shrimp in my reef tank again. That's because it ate most of my Yellow Polyps. Other than that I really like them. You don't have to worry about any problems with the Blood Shrimp.

I like peppermint because they eat aptasia. If you have aptasia in the process of growing, then they can help you prevent a break out.

Blood Shrimp are sweet!!! BUT, if you have rock work they will hide 90% of the time. They will accasionally come out for a few or come out for a quick bite to eat. IME and a few others that I know that own them

most shrimps are very shy, just like my S.S.C. Shrmp. My Peppermint on the other hand, likes to run and swim around the tank.

I've got two Peppermints and one Blood for over 3yrs and never had a problem, even when in a smaller tank.

That's great to hear, though three shrimps in a small tank kind a lot, but as long the don't beef around each other then it's fine I guess. How big are they now?

I have 2 peppermint and one blood in a 29g , and they get along, or at least it doesnt seem like they care for each other, they are very cute, specially when the peppermint get on top of the yellow watchman goby, it looks like he was riding a horse... LOL

Twenty nine gallon is great for your shrmps then. My two shrimps fight, but never intend to kill each other. They only chase each other around like crazy. It's funny though, they never intend to bite.

hehehe... i actually wanted to get a sexy shrimp but i dont know, im afraid i will have to many shrimp around and not enough space, and i dont know if they all get along.... any one knows??

Yes i have 2 peppermint, and a fire shrimp ..

I had a sexy shrimp at one time, they are very interesting. They don't get very big, I would be afraid it might get eaten by another shrimp that gets bigger. Sexy shrimp also cost alot for the size you get.

i dont know i think my fire shrimp may eat it then... because he is hugeeeee like 3 inc
