My reef has become infected with Myrionema hydroids.
Has anyone come up with a way to rid the aquarium of these pests?

They are still thriving in my tank after six years! I tried a string of different (commonly availablle) seaslugs hoping that I would find a hydroid eater. No luck. There has to be a seaslug that eats these things!

can you post a picture of the hydroids. I haven't heard of any slug that will eat them. Some say KeyHole Limpets eat them. Others have used a Kalk paste or vinagar.

A blowtorch might work ;)
Actually I have found nothing that kills them really. As mentioned I had heard keyhole limpets sometimes eat them. I have also heard though some keyhole limpets can aquire tastes for corals as well.

I did a search before posting my question (in my experience, searching works better).
These are the most informative results:
A thread about using a medication called Panacur

Longest thread I found detailing various experiences with attempted 'remedies'

From Ron Shimeks forum - not very helpful

I was hoping someone had come up with something new (the useful threads I found were from about a year ago).

Someone from my local forum said that the sea slug Caloria indica would eat them. Good luck finding it though.
