Hey all anyone know of a place to get new shells for hermits? I just got mine & they're small, but I guess ready to grow out. They've killed some snails & were trying to get my queen conch untill I seperated them. I've searched online, but I can only find places with shells for land hermits & they're all fancy, polished, painte, etc. I jsut want natural looking ones.

I went to a crafts and hobby store (Hobby Lobby) and bought empty shells. They were sold in a bag for like $1 or something. They are for necklace making or other craft work I guess. Mix of shapes and sizes, a real bargain.

I boiled them for about 5 mins to make sure they were clean etc , let then cool down and threw them into my tank. 2 hermits upgraded within minutes.

Cheapest and easiest way that I know. Hope that helps.

Wal Mart sells a nice collection of shells in the hobby section for a reasonable price.

As mentioned, boil them first.

Best of luck,

Go to your LFS and ask for some. They always have a ton, at least at mine.
