I think I have one or two of these in my tank. I only see them at nightime when the lights are out. If I turn the lights on they retract into holes in the LR. The one is dark maroon and the other is really dark some color or black.

Is this a behavior of tunicates? Would I need to supplement with phytoplankton or anything to keep them alive, I kind of like them.

Tunicates do not move. Sessile in nature. These are one of my many colonies. They are filter feeders and will enjoy the phyto.

Maybe some type of worm? Got any pictures?

I'll have to try tonight. They only come out at night and go inside very fast.

never heard of tunicates moving like that... they usually stay put.
