I think the 'head ' of my feather duster came off, it's stuck in my HOB filter suction tube. Do they regenerate? Is it dead? How could this happen?

Thanks for any info

They do it when they get stressed. If the "worm" hasn't crawled out of the tube they will grow back their "crown". This happened to my feather duster and it took about a month for it to grow back.

I wonder why he was stressed. He has been in there for over a month and everything seemed fine.

I had 2 feather dusters. One lost it's crown 3 times I think. The last time it didn't come back. Tube eventually fell apart. The other one has only lost it's crown one time. Hopefully it will do a little better. I got both at the same time about 16 months ago. The one died maybe 3-4 months ago. I was doing some aquascaping, which I don't think it cared for.
