Does anybody have any tips on setting it up? I followed the instructions and everything... it is on "auto"... but it won't come on. I have waited 24 hours because the instructions say it may not work until it is supposed to turn on again... but it has gone by 2 times now.

I have the digital model with 2 yellows, 2 blues, and 4 constant. Any tips?

OK, that's scary. I've got 4 of these myself. They are plugged into 4 separate GFI outlets. They're mounted on a wall adjacent to the tank in the fishroom. I would hope that the GFI would trip if there was any problem...

Anyway, this is a good excuse to look into something else. *RANT*Especially since I've been bothered by the fact that the outlets on those strips are too close together. You'd think Coralife would have a clue about that considering there are so many transformers that need to be plugged in for this hobby... *ENDRANT*

So, the question is, who has recommendations for a replacement for a lot of equipment on 4 separate timing schedules?

Wow. Those pictures are enough to convince me to swallow the $25 and find something else.

Suggestions?

Yep, I'm looking at that now, too. Looks like that's my next buy. It will do the job, plus a few other bonus things. Jr's the right price, too. :D

I just can't find pics of how it controls the timing of the "up to 12 devices."

Wait. I think I get it. You need to buy the Direct Connect 4 or 8 to control your devices - is that right? Also, another question, if I can pick your brain: If it doesn't come with the pH probe, since it's a standard BNC connector, a pinpoint pH probe (which I have) should work with it to monitor pH, is that right? Or do you need to buy something else to plug in the pH probe?

Although it looks like a great product, Neptune is really kind of cryptic about what exactly is included. If you don't buy the extra gadgets, it looks like it's just an expensive thermometer.

I have the controller with the DC 8 on it and a pH probe. I don't know for sure about your question regarding using a different probe on the controller. Neptune has a forum here that you could ask specific questions on to help you out. I use it as a timer for my lights, pH probe, temp control, pump control, as a sensor to turn off the lights if the tank gets too hot, and to turn on a fan if the temp gets to a certain point.

Great, thanks! I'll be using it for pretty much exactly the same, so it does look like this will be the one I'll get. Plus the accouterments. :D I'll see if the pinpoint pH probe works...
