What Worm Is This? Palolo?

I caught this worm few days ago after I putted my live rock into fresh water ; it was dead so I (actually my friend not me :D ) can pull it out of Live Rock.

The color of this creature is brown to black but it’s looked like rainbow under sunlight or flash light, it also has many legs with fin on top of its bristle body. Length of its body is around 15.5 Inch. :eek2:

My friend in Indonesia Marine Forum told me, maybe it is a Palolo worm…so I just want to make sure….is any member know what kind of warm this is?

A Eunicid worm, a predator and scavenger. Your specimen appears to have its head retracted, but I have a few good photo examples of this worm family along with a bit of info on them. Hope it is of use.

I never thought it's looked like a telephone cord but after I read your post, I looked thorough my picture again and heey...it's really looked like a telephone cord :D

That was a worm from my Live Rock... I found this worm inside my live rock several weeks ago but I don't have time to unload my tank because the worm was inside the most bottom Live Rock. Before I caught it, my wife found the worm scratching around of the top live rock so we can pull out the live rock easily.

Yes, I've disposed it ... I feel eerie ! :eek2: (I guess you want this worm as a prove).
I don't even have guts to pull it out of my live rock myself! :o
