Its recommended to use a mag 5 but i have an extra mag 7 sitting around, will this be too much for the Aqua C EV-120 Protein Skimmer ?

also, how much water does the Aqua C EV-120 need to run at top efficiency?

You will see that most people that are getting good results are overpowering them. The Eheim 1260 seems ideal for the 120, but since you have the Mag 7 sitting around, go for it.

I use the mag 7 on mine.
Works much better than the mag 5.

Mag 7 is the perfect fit for that skimmer. Buy a mag 5 for it and you will be very unhappy with it's performance. Michael R
