View Full Version : Red Algae in Sump!!

Some red Algae is forming in my sump return section and the skimmer section. Is that ok or bad?

Do I have to remove it or will it be gone in time?

grow more of it. Is the sump lit? i think the algae you have is cyano bacteria (cant remeber how to spell it)

More than likely, I would leave it alone. Do you have a picture?

I have it in my sump, I have a light on 24 hours, I don't have any in the main tank so I am leaving it.

I have it in mine too....I find the more it grows the healthier my display looks.....basically its removing excess nutrients from water system which is a good thing....
