Hello all!
i am new to this forum!
i have a 30 gallon tank that has been set up for 2 months now and i havw stocked my tank but am looking at another fish mmaybe a tiger jawfish or 2 bluegreen chromis
any info on this?
also i have just added a small atlantic anenome in my tank hes been in for an hour and id fully open and healthy.
the other option was to buy a 3rd clown? bad idea do they need to be kept in pairs of 2 or cani add a odd number?
also i know you cant mix species of clowns but can you mix false percs. and true percs? it would be 3 clowns in my tank.

i know this is a ton on info and questions but any suggestions would be great and i also want to show my self into this new forum site!
so far SO GOOD!

thank

[welcome]

You're probably safer with two clowns than three. I wouldn't try adding another clown.

The Chromis seem to fight most of them, killing off the weaker animals one at a time.

From what I have learned, 3 or more isn't a good idea.

i got 3 clowns...they've been together for 2 years. 1 large 1 medium and 1 small. get along pretty well.

really? what kind are they? I really wanted more than two but decided to just get two because of what I've heard.

Both ocellaris and percula will form these "family" groupings, I think, but I wouldn't try it, personally. Joyce Wilkerson's book on clownfish is a very good resource.

So you think I should stick with just the two?

I have 2. I wouldn't add another. Lots of fish out there to pick from.

I have 8 blue/green chromis and will never have another reef tank without a school of something.

The tangs and other skittish fish see the chromis swimming around and assume it is safe.

When I added the chromis my tangs came out of the rocks more often.

For the size of your tank I think you should stick with 2 clowns.

i bought 10 chromis, all dead but 2! so i bought 5 more, all dead but 2.............now one...........im done!! he's not agressive to any other fish but other chromis's. i've heard they do best in schools , i guess i didnt have a big enough school.

Chromis often seem to get aggressive, at least after a while, and kill each other off. One should be fine. Jawfish are interesting, but you'll want a coarse substrate for the digging.
