skimmer question

i got a used aquaclear skimmer and i don't think its working correctly? i turned it on and it fill up about half way w/ foam but nothing is reaching the collection cup.. there is a air line with a adjuster on it and when i turn it the foam goes down.. but it never goes above half way? does anyone know if its working right or what's wrong? thanks

they have to break in for one...so wait a week and then go from there.

I agree that a break-in period is fairly normal.
