I'm starting up a 30G currently, so far it's just sand and 10lb of LR with another 10lb to be added this weekend and a further 15lb the following weekend (trying to spread the cost!). All the LR is "fully cured" premium Fiji stuff. The first 10lb went in 2 weeks ago and my readings are SG - 1.022, Ph - 8.1, Ammonia - 0ppm, Nitrite - 0.05ppm, Nitrate - 5ppm. If my nitrite readings come down to 0ppm over the next week is it ok to add some of my clean up crew which will hopefully eventually consist of 6 x red legged hermits, 6 x zebra hermits, 6 x turbo snails and 6 x cerith snails (obviously not all at once!) or shoudl I hold off and get all the LR in first?

I just set my tank up on 9/24/06 and added my clean up crew after all the cloudiness had cleared. I bought a used aquarium that already had the live sand and live rock., I dont know if this makes a difference. I am no professional but I added mine roughly 4 or 5 days later. The tank has been growing crazy things all over the place ever since!

By the way, my clean up crew consisted of about 20 snails, 12 hermits, 1 pistol shrimp, and 2 crabs. They have all survived except for one small crab who was smashed by live rock.

I think I added my clean up crew a week into it or something.

I also got my rock in a few steps. You are probably ok to get them whenever you want at this point.

Thanks, I think I'll pick up 3/4 hermits and the cerith snails and see how we go.
