Anyone know how long before I can put a clam in the tank? Thanks :D

I waited 5 years. (I'm very patient though.)

You need to be sure that you have a stable system as well as experience at maintaining your tank. I'd give it at least a year.

Be sure to do lots of research on their requirements before adding one to your system. (This is the rule for anything you add.)

Enjoy the process of reefkeeping, and welcome to the hobby.

Thanks, basically water levels have been good since I started checking, which is about a month ago when I started adding live rock, don't know if anything happened in that first 2 weeks. Ever since I started checking water though, all has been good, maybe a nitrate jump to 20 once but I fixed that in a quick hurry with a water change, maybe 10% water change and it dropped it to 10. Now when I check nitrate it reads 0 all the time, probably the algae using it.

Sounds like you're doing well. Add creatures slowly and it will be easier to maintain a stable environment.

I would wait at least 6 months.
