I just got a coral banded shrimp and forgot to ask the guy at the fish store what and how to feed it. I read somewhere that they will eat flake food, but it doesn't seem to be going after the food. What will he eat and do i need to get a special contraption to feed him with?

Maybe they're looking for something a little meatier? I know they eat bristleworms, and sometimes snails, other shrimp, etc.

mine eats whatever i put in the tank. he comes running as soon as it hits the water. flake, mysis, brine. He is not picky. He will find the food. mine comes out when the lights go out and roams around the tank.

Mine's chowing down on a 1/2" piece of silverside right now. I used to work at a LFS, we fed the shrimp everything from pellets to mysis, brine, shrimp, krill, fish... IME they're not picky, but even a small shrimp can put away quite a bit of food, given the opportunity.
