I just put in some aquacultured rock and there is this worm like thing that is squiggling all over the surface of the water.

What is this? and what should I do with it?

Hard to be sure, but it could be the epitoke (reproductive phase) of some worm. I'd just ignore it.

thanks...I've seen a lot of worms, but this one is kinda weird...hence my paranoia

It landed for a minute behind my flow valve, but it's been struggling on the surface since...If you look at the bottom pic, the right side of it seems to be a tail that flies around like a helicoptor, it seems to be trying to swim down, but just cant make it. It seems like it's trying to find a place to land, but i just can't figure out where or how to help it

It will find it's way. Don't worry.

Uh of, for that type of worm you're going to need a larger tank, and better lighting. It will also need at least 5 feet of swimming room. I hope you're prepared to culture live food and phytoplankton to keep it healthy!

Just kidding of course, yeah just leave it alone, throw it out, feed it to something, doesn't matter. Lots of wierd lifeforms appear in these reefs, no worries ;).

I agree with Nick...you are gonna need MH at the least.....
or a Turkey Baster to suck it out if you are worried about it...

That's most probably a bristleworm.
