View Full Version : Does the glass method work with really large crabs?

I just spotted a sillouhette (sp?) of a large crab in the hole of one of my rocks.
I'm assuming it's a gorilla crab, all I saw are red eyes and a lot of hairy legs that resemble a tarantula in looks and size.
My estimate is that it's golfball size and I want to get it out!
Would putting a glass with bait work on such a big crab? I noticed within the past week that a bunch of my small clams I got from IPSF are dead with their shells wide open.
Is he the culprit or did they just die?

Get a bigger glass? :D

That's how I caught this guy, he was pretty big. I actually traded him in, as some guy wanted a large crab tank. I even named him Rocky. :D

I hope I can catch it because it looks really nasty.

Glass jar with silversides imo.

You might be able to snatch him with a red light at night. :P
