Hello

I have a number of babies (sand sifting starfish)!

I have had adults starfishs for our a year now and recently notice babies in my tank. Am I seeing double or is it possible as know or was told it is impossible?

Have anybody else had success with breeding starfish?

How many am I likely to have?

WHat is the success rate?

Any othe rinformation would help.

Russell

Are you sure they aren't asterina stars, hitchhikers that can sometimes mutiply to plague proportions in peoples tanks. Usually harmless, some have a taste for various corals.

"No..they are def. sand sifting starfish"

I have both asterinas ( by the thousands ) & and sand sifters.

It is not easy to tell them apart in the juvenile phase.
