Just hooked up this pump, and it is very loud. Any ideas to quiet it down? I have tried moving it away from the glass and I put foam around it, no help, it sound like the noise is inside, not really vibrations. I am running it submerged
Any help?

check inside to make sure that it;s not missing any parts. i had a rio that was missing a rubber piece that goes on the ends of the impeller that made it vibrate and sound like a lawnmower. check to see if it impeller itself is cracked or chipped.

ive got two Q.O.4000 check the impeller! one of mine sucked a VERRRRRRY small rock and nicked it. threw it out of balance. had to take alittle off the rest of them to balance it out.this took care of 95% of the vibration.

I use a 3000 external on a closed loop and it is very quiet. There must be something wrong with yours.

It does come with 4 rubber feet you have to insert into the bottom of the pump.

Mine is pretty quiet except with the impeller freezes due to calcium build up. When that happens it vibrate.

I have the feet on, I am returning it as a defect, it is too loud for something not to be broken

yep something is broken with it. I have had Quiet ones and very happy with them.
