I would skip the seastar, they eat the organisms in the sand bed which make your sand bed live. They also require a substantial sand bed for long term survival. The majority end up slowly starving.

I like my Fighting Conch and Nassarius snails a lot. My fav was my tigertail cuke, but he got caught in a powerhead. :(

Isn't that what they all do? the hermits and snails eat it too don't they?

If your looking for just inverts I'd have to agree with above statements. Conchs, sand sifting stars, nassaruis snails, cukes.
The biggest sand mover I've seen would have to be a 2inch tiger pistol; lol.

Certain fish will move the sand as well, certain gobies, etc, etc.

You could try a pair of Dragon gobies... all they do all day is sift sand and still will eat prepared foods so that you don't have to worry about them starving.
