I'm setting up a 20g quarantine tank and wondering how many fish could go in at a time. My first pass would be something like 1 midas blenny, 2 banggai cardinals and 2 oscellaris clowns. Is this to many? After that round I'm looking at a long nose butterfly and a yellow tang. Is it OK to have them in quarantine together or should the yellow tang go it alone?

One at a time would be best... as if you get one sick fish, it'll kill all of them rather than just itself. Between fish, change the water, vinegar and dry the tank out. Patience is key. I definitely wouldn't do 5 fish together. If you did both clowns together so you could add them simultaneously, I should think that would be fine, especially if they come from the same tank. Maybe the cardinals too, but as 2 separate pairs. Then do the butterfly separately, definitely the tang by itself, and the blenny I'd also do alone, but blennys are pretty disease-proof.... that should more or less be an observation cycle.
