We've decided that our next several projects will be named after marine life (mainly fish). Some fish names like shark, ray, marlin... have been used by other projects. Definitely I don't want some project names like nemo or prawn. Please give me suggestions. Thanks!

I named some of my old servers megalodon, Architeuthis, and coelacanth.
Those would be a good name for your project.

"feeder fish"? I don't want to be fed. :D
I am looking for name of predators which dominate. Species with ntelligence and agility would be better. Fish names are not limited to aquarium fish.
Last week I was thinking of "mantis". After explaining what mantis shrimp is to my fellow co-workers, they showed interest to this cool predator. However, most people said no after realizing that it's a shrimp about several inches long.

How about shark names then?
Mako
Hammerhead (is this a good project name? Like "blockhead?")
Leopard
Tiger (hmm, lots of cat names in sharks. Lot's of WWII German tanks names too)
Or
Barracudda
Pirhanna
Lamprey (worst fish ever)
Mahi Mahi

You want predator - well, Megalodon (giant shark of the past) and architeuthis (largest known living squid) are probably one of the most feared animals in the marine kingdom.
Can't go wrong there IMO.:D

what kind of project is this for? That might help decide what "fish" traits you should look for. It is a simple graphic design conceptused to help brainstorm ideas.

It's a mix-signal semiconductor chip project. A huge system on chip for networking applications. So I need something fast, agile and powerful. :D
The project name I am looking for is an internal project name. Sometimes those supporting people like operational group or marketing guys have hard time to "remember" hard-to-spell project names. :)
I love the name "Megalodon". Just be afraid the comming project becomes "fossil" too soon. lol

Stingray has been used by other project. I never imagine it can kill a man like that.
My current project is called shark. Marlin is one of the future projects.
