green birdsnest

on my green birdsnest i'm getting what looks like algae on some of the tips. what gives? the PE isn't as good as it was a couple weeks ago but other than that it doesn't look that bad, other than the algae.
i do have 15ppm nitrate right now and i'm doing a water change tomorrow.

Algae doesnt grow on healthy tissue, so its receding from the tips it sounds like. Is your Alk ok and stable?

i dose seachem reef builder and the alk is always in the "normal" section on my redsea test kit. i really need a real alk test kit.

and i figured that it was receeding, hard to tell though.

uggh.

so what can i do? should i cut off the tips that have algae?

If thats the only place receding...I would. Just cut a little past the algae into healthy tissue. GL
