hey guys, what's the best size frag tank for a 14K 150w DE/HQI pendant? I'm going to plumb it into my main system and just run a couple MJ12's on hydro flos. any suggestions? i was thinking maybe a 20L... i that would give me a good height for the MH... but then what height would i run that?

also, what are some good other inhabitants for the frag tank? also, what kind of turnover would you recommend for this, on the return pump from my sump?

thanks so much!

It is usually suggested that a pendent can light a 2'X2' area. A 150W HQI should be OK for 12-18" of depth. If youplan to use shelves to place the frags on, then an 18" depth would offer options for both high and medium/low light corals.

well i found a 20L for a great deal, and that's, i think 12" tall. so i'm set for sps. would lower light corals be ok on the bottom if i hung the pendant a little higher?

also, how much return turnover will i need?

thanks so much guys! i'm excited to start propagating! i have several big colonies right now.

I'd go with a 24x24x12 turtle tank.

well, i have to keep it 18" front to back, because if it's 2', i won't be able to get to my security system for my house. :) damn box placement.

Just get some predatory fish. Who needs a security system :)

Me too but I can't seem to find one on this coast. Does any one besides Lee-Mar make these? I'm starting to get frustrated.
