was wondering if two 175 MH enough lights for 90 gal with sps??

ok how many watts. and if 175 watts should be good for softies. but not much more.

i still dont know your watts.?if only 175 watts i would say not to well may live but not grow or resproduce very well.

ya was going to post that, but depands on the length of the tank. and how deep, but i would try for something like for a 4ft tank 2 175 w and maybe a couple 65w pc or t5 to add some blue to the spectrum

That's a cool link.
He has 2 175's, so your on the light side for sps.
It would be nice to have something along with that, like a couple T-5 actinic's.
Gives good color too.
Another thing to consider is tank depth.
24" or deeper would be nice to have 250w MH

not even sure if he is adding them to any light he might already have!

but i think you get more W for the t5's

Two 175 W bulbs might work well, depending on the reflector, ballast, and the actual bulb. The Iwasaki 15,000 K 175 W bulbs are very efficient, for example, and I like the spectral content, although that's personal taste. In general, 250 W bulbs seem to be more common on that size tank. I would go with at least 2 175W for SPS, 1 won't be sufficient enough for a 90 IMO
