how much did they get you for that? I was there last week and thought the store had potential, but their prices seemed a bit high (especially on their ricordia).

Is it of the pulsing variety? It's hard to tell from the picture....:)

I have had red sea in the past and it looked exactly like that, also searchs on google and pictures from my various reef books all indicate it would be red sea pom pom, post a full picture thats pulled back a bit so you can see the stalk and all.

Is it bigger than the normal red sea? big stalk with pulsing heads coming off it? It look likes Bali Xenia to me. The stuff ships horrible (worse than normal xenia) and I hear frags bad too. That is why you dont see it much. Mike at TFZ had a huge chunk a few months ago. If it is this stuff, I have seen one stalk grow as big as 10'' with heads the size of quarters on it. I think its really cool stuff, and if it is Bali, $50 is a decent price.

Here is a LINK (http://www.wetwebmedia.com/xeniidarts.htm) for some species ID.

I am only thinking that the arms of each polyp look a little long and not quite as fuzzy as some red sea that I have seen....

What color is it? Brown, pink, white, blue? It does pulse, so that would rule out the anthelia....

It could still be red sea pom pom tho. Characteristically, shorter stalked, fuzzy polyp, pulses, ones I have seen tend to be pink or white.:)

Bali may be a good guess also.

Holy Moly! Those polyps are really huge! My xenia polyps are a little larger than a zoo polyp - having those in the picture really gives a better perspective. I would say NOT red sea pom pom! I haven't seen that type before either. And it's blue... nice! Can I get a piece when you frag it?:D I could trade something for it!

Does the stalk have a glitter to it? It could be blue cespitularia...but I am leaning towards the giant bali also, tho I have no experience with that! Just the polyps are really big!

Thanks for sharing the pics! (keep me in mind for a frag down the line!):p

fiance calls it "cousin IT"

Its Anthillia or Waving Hand. The stuff grows like crazy if it finds a spot that it is happy with in your tank. I have a ton of it and frag it every once in a while and sell it back to the LFS.

alemab3 thats what i still had in my head that its anthillia
but i thought that stuff doesnt pulse, and all the ones ive seen are pinkish
i'm new to this type of coral so i dont know

It's not anthelia. I also have it and the polyps are not even half as big as the one you have. I am sticking with the Bali theory!

I have never come across a pulsing anthelia either.

Here is a pic of my and it seems to be a bit hairier on the polyp arms , if you catch what I am saying....your's are not quite as fuzzy looking....

Mine tends to grow in a mat, if that helps.
