I'm looking for a few hob filters to maximize flow and minimize clutter in my new 40 breeder. I will probably get three filters total one to hide a heater in, another for cheato and the last for filtration. I want 20-30 times water turnover and a sump is not really an option. I like the idea a filters to hide equipment so I'm passing over powerheads. Does anyone have experience with these filters. I need something QUIET and quality. My choices right now are AC110, Emperor 400 or Tetratec 500- all are similarly priced.

The tetratec will be noisy if you use the alternating flow. I have the 300 and took the little cup off the suction side so I have constant flow out of both outlets, alot less noise. Personanly I'd go with the biggest ACs you can get away with, they are easily modded for fuges and will have the most space to hide equipment in. If you get the tetratec, it has a special heater that you can buy that fits down into it, it works, but would be an additional cost.
