I can't find any other type of macro algae in my area right now besides halimeda algae. Is this algae good for nutrient transport?

It takes calcium and alk with it. Also it want's to be attached which makes it more difficult to harvest.

Its perfectly fine as a display algae for a reef. It will grow slowly and can uptake nutrients through its growth, as all algae will. However, it wont grow as fast as say Chaetomorpha or Caulerpa and it will consume some Ca and Alk along with the other nutrients. More than the others would.

I dont think it being attached it a big deal. My bunches break off pretty easily.

It also resists grazing fairly well.
