Hey guys i got this from my LFS recently, i think its a LPS maybe you can tell me. This picture shows it under a powerglow bulb with its polyps closed i will get one with its polyps open tonight, its been doing well high up on top of the rocks under a trichromatic T12 and actinic T12. Please let me know what it is and any experiences you have with it. Its about 6 inches by 5 inches with a large stem i got it for 30 bucks, no bad patches all the polyps are coming out now...

Pagoda coral. It doesn't shelve, per se: it can be cups, or twist a little, or shape itself by the currents a bit, I think.

I suppose it is. Here's a link to some descriptions of the coral that you have.

Looks like a tubinaria pelata. They keep their polyps open during the day. Mine did best under med to high flow. When I had to change my set up to accomidate other corals, his flow got chagned to moderate and he closed up for a few days. Still doesnt look as good as he did under the high flow so I may move it.

So far mine has been comming out every day and looks healthy, do you think the lighting i mentioned at my top post is enough for this coral?
