hello guys, i have been keeping this mini carpet anemone ( i believe is called tapetum carpet anemone ) for like 3 years, its beautiful but most important is perfectly safe as you can see, it does not damage the corals even touching them, mine is in between blasto merletti, several candy canes and does not harm anything and on top of that is in the same rock for three years without moving anywhere, this is my experience, i dont know if any of you guys have any experience with this, but mine so far is very positive, that's all, i just wanna share.

thanks for watching, enriquehttp://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/89361mark_hennessey_house_568__Medium_.jpg

I've found my mini Stichodactyla tapetum anemones cause zoanthids to close up. It does not kill them directly, but after being close up for an extended period of time, the zoos disapear.

BTW, I think that is a Maxi tapetum. My mini's are all the size of a quarter, and multiply like rabbits.

thanks randy, i didn't know that there are minis and maxis, that's why most of the time that I hear from them, people describe them like the size of yours, mine its been there for three years and never reproduce except one time that i saw it spawn but of course, that did not produce anything, mine is like 4-5 inches in diameter when open, thanks for the info, I learn something new today

Take a look at The Tank of the Month for April 2006

He has pictures of both the mini's and the Maxi's on there, with a little bit of history.

Here's a Frogspawn that's doing just fine next to a maxi mini carpet anemone.

I love mine, I keep feeding in in hopes it will split soon. Never had this guy sting anyone & it never moves.

Here (http://hercules.kgs.ku.edu/hexacoral/anemone2/distribution.cfm?xmlsource=http%3A%2F%2Fhercules%2Ekgs%2Eku%2Eedu%2Fhexacoral%2Fanemone2%2Fxml%2Fhex mlscript%2Ecfm%3Fseniorid%3D106%26type%3DTYPE&callingpage=types&speciessearched=Stichodactyla%20tapetum). It is safe to assume that they have broader distribution than what this map indicates. I am sure that there are plenty more locations within that range.
